Why this course?

Description

This module ties the concepts, tools, and techniques (theory) of financial management to reality. The main concepts, tools, and techniques are developed alongside practical examples to solidfy the learner's comprehension of the theory and how to apply it to real-life business problems requiring financial decision-making. A "ground up" approach is followed whereby each  concepts is developed step by step, buidling upwards with no assumption of prior knowledge. This ensures that the learner is able to build muscles for long-term knowledge retention which is the bedrock for success in the examination, as opposed to short-term rote memorisation of abstrat concepts. On completion of the module, the learner will be able to:

• Discuss the role and responsibilities of financial management in organisations.
• Perform an analysis of finance-based business operations for decision-making purposes.
• Use business information to assist business managers to make decisions about the financing of a business.
• Use business information to assist business managers to make investment decisions on behalf of a business organisation.
• Participate in discussions and decisions relating to the management of working capital in an organisation.
• Analyse the scenarios involving business mergers and acquisitions.
